Located off the coast of Honduras on Roatan, Mango Creek Lodge embodies 22 acres of coastal jungle and semi-arid pine forests. The lodge is home to an incredible, complex ecosystem consisting of mangroves, jungle, and coral reefs. Not only is there a variety of fish such as bonefish, tarpon and permit, these 22 acres also provide life for a diverse range of plant and animal species.
Aside from fishing, Mango Creek also offers an assortment of activites that will give you an opportunity to experience nature at its best.
Mango Creek Lodge
You will begin your fishing day at 7:00 AM and you will return to the lodge mid morning for a hearty breakfast. After breakfast, you will continue your fishing day until about 5:00 PM. Your primary fishing targets will be bonefish, tarpon, and permit. However, there are many other species swimming in these beautiful waters which you are likely to encounter such as snook and barracuda.

International airfare and airport departure taxes ($40), fishing tackle, tips, gifts or items of a personal nature.
Fishing is available year-round. However, Permit fishing has the best numbers of fish found from February - July. (March - May, being the best because this is when the permit begin gathering for spawning and there is a lot of activity on the flats which also improves opportunity for catching bonefish, tarpon, and snook.)
Tarpon are available year round with peak season being October - January. November is usually the start of the rainy season and is when the Tarpon are most active.

Upon arrival in Roatan you will proceed through customs and take a 30-45 minute car ride to the town of Oakridge. From there you will be taken to the lodge via a 15 minute boat ride.
While Mango Creek Lodge can accommodate up 20 people. Fishing is limited to just 6 anglers per day.
Acommodations consist of cabanas set on pilings over the water. Each cabana has a queen bed and a single bed, ceiling fans and reading lights, a private bathroom that includes a shower with hot water, basin and toilet. All doors and windows are fully screened and the cabanas have shingled roofs, private decks with a hammock and a swing chair. You can literally step from your deck to your boat!
After early morning fishing, you will return to a delicious breakfast. Lunch consists of packed lunch eaten around 12:30 PM and will be provided on the boat. Dinners will include shrimp, lobster, snapper, grouper, and a variety of other seafood depending on the catch.
As a fully functioning eco-lodge, numerous activities are available for non-fishing guests. These include kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, hiking, and island mangrove tours.
There is also an exotic iguana farm located on Roatan well worth visiting.
SAMPLE OUTLINE ITINERARY

Day 1 (typically Saturday): Arrive in Roatan. Private car and boat transfer to lodge. Overnight lodge.
Day 2-7: Full fishing days. Overnight lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to airport for your international departure flight.
A valid passport with at least six months validity is required for U.S. citizens. A visa is not required but you will be issued a tourist card upon entry (keep it with your passport as you will need it for departure).
Malaria tablets recommended. Be sure to bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Note: Health precautions are offered here as an informational service only. See your doctor or health clinic.
The official language in Honduras is Spanish. However, English is spoken at the lodge.
Mid January through June is when the dry season occurs and the weather is settled. August through September are the most humid months because there is less wind. The rainy season begins in October and runs until mid January. The temperature year-round is mid 80s/low 90s. At night the temparture drops into the 70s.
We recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance to cover any losses should you have to cancel to due to unforeseen illness or other emergency. Certain restrictions do apply. Premium rates are typically about $65 per $1,000 of coverage, and usually include some benefits for lost baggage, trip interruption, and emergency evacuation.
